KS2 School Council: Houses of Parliament Visit 2023
After an early 6am start, we arrived in London at 11 to begin our tour of Parliament.
We started by watching a video of the history of Parliament and found out about the Kings James I, Charles I and Charles II, the gunpowder plot and suffragettes.
We were then met by Marco Longhi, our MP from Gornal
Our tour of Parliament began then and we even got to stand. by where Sir Kier Starmer sits in the House of Commons.
Marco Longhi then took us into The Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, a beautiful church for MPs where one of the Suffragettes hid.
We then had lunch in Jubilee Gardens with the pigeons and squirrels and enjoyed fantastic views of London from The London Eye.
