Children across Year Five enjoyed a visit from representatives of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Building on the success of the recent games, the children found out more about the motivation of Birmingham hosting the event and the legacy the organisers wanted for the young people of the region.
Through a series of activities - including mime, quizzes, Geography skills, and even a giant parachute - the children learnt more about the countries who participated in the games. A key message was ‘Finding Common Ground’. The children learnt that the similarities and differences between them and other children and young people in their community and around the Commonwealth could be celebrated and connections between each other made.
